Flickrfan: Green Planet in Blue Sky
November 30, 2009
Photographed by Seb Przd
This stereographic little planet was made directly in hugin with the source images, instead of going through the equirectangular and then to the stereographic projection in mathmap. The problem of going through the equirectangular is that in mathmap the size is limited to the size of the original picture. If I stitch a 5000×2500 panorama, then the square little planet won’t be above 2500 pixels wide. Quality is so much nicer with the stereographic projection, and the size for this panorama is a respectable 4000×4000, perfect for large prints.
