A lone tree on the coast of Bayan Mutiara, Penang in the early morning light. The overcast sky giving a diffused light and grim grey tones. I forgot to set my light meter to the Reala 100ASA, and shoot the whole roll at 160ASA – pushed 2/3EV. This was developed normally.

I watch them. I watch them in the spring when they fly north and again in the fall as they make their way to warmer climes. Their pattern forms brackes on my seasons. Seasons that are now compressing as their numbers rise. Seasons that bring new patterns with them, patterns that cannot be predicted like the passing of the geese.

Pelicans queued up as if waiting to get into a summer blockbuster movie !
If you’re interested, look at the large or original size – one of the pelicans (see note above) looks like he just scored a meal….
Occasionally one would break formation, soar off, make a few circles over the marshes and come back for a crash landing.

Finally the tomato & basil plants nurtured for months have burst into fragrant bloom. But before making the sauce, I had to play with the harvest a little bit…
I’m making a big pot of ‘sgetti – better hurry on over….

August APW Meetup Update: 3 Shot Critique
Folks.
I hope you’re out taking summer pictures and looking forward to the August 26 meetup. It may be warm, but I’ll have plenty of iced soda and pretzels to cool us down. Feel free to bring more munchies to share.
We’ve decided on a Three Shot Critique this month, to give everyone a chance to show some range, and still manage to get through the whole group in two hours.
So, send best three shots (taken within the last two months) to:
apw@e357.net
and I’ll put them all together for the meetup. Don’t worry about the size or format. If there’s a problem I’ll email you and we’ll work it out.
Note: By sending in your image, you are granting the organizer(s) rights to reproduce the image either in print or in digital media for the express use in group events (eg critiques, showings), and on web pages. This does not give the organizer the right to sell your work, or grant license to other parties.
