Join us at Vegas Vision Studios for a fun night of hands on learning that revolves around the art of Mid key lighting while shooting artistic nudes. We will focus our efforts on Clam Shell and Short side lighting as well as explore how to use side Rim Light to create emotionally impactful and artistic Silhouettes.Mid Key lighting produces extremely sharp detail while lending a soft radiant glow to skin.These are lighting styles are time honored and classic yet they are also among the most ineffectually practiced by aspiring professionals. Learning to properly control these lighting styles and how to adapt them to your specific situation will place you well ahead of your competition.
While we will be shooting artistic nudes at this workshop these techniques can easily be applied in a wide range of photographic situations including Family portraits, Editorial High Fashion, Gallery Art and Commercial Advertising work. These styles of lighting can be used to produce everything from a soft grey background to near perfect black and will be used to help you understand the way light falls off and reflects from different surfaces. When not to use this lighting style is equally as important as when not to use it and we will show you how you can best capitalize on this style of lighting in your business.
This workshop will be led by noted commercial photographer and VVS owner Bobby Deal
Registration Deadline is 6:00 PM the day before the workshop.
Cost is $75 and includes model fees, makeup artist fees, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
Models will provide photographers with a restricted use model release. Photographers may choose to negotiate full use commercial releases with models. Full use rates are at the discretion of the model but will be based on a per setting fee schedule. While models and Makeup artists will be monetarily compensated for their participation in all Meet up Workshops you are encouraged to tip them as you would any other service industry professional if you are satisfied with the service they provide.
RSVP Requirements
Limited to 10 photographers plus VVS Staff Members your RSVP is NOT Guaranteed until registration fees are paid. It is imperative that we keep an accurate RSVP Count so that I may book a sufficient number of models for the workshop.We strive to maintain a model to photographer ratio of around 4:1 so your early RSVP helps us meet this goal.
Equipment requirements:
Digital SLR Camera or Prosumer Point and Shoot with Flash Hot Shoe / PC Cord sync capabilities and manual shooting mode.
